Increased Precautions We're Taking in Response to COVID-19

LAST UPDATED ON 12/17/2020

As updates on the impact of the coronavirus continue to be released, we want to take a moment to inform you of the heightened preventative measures we have put in place at Acadiana Treatment Center to keep our patients, their families, and our employees safe. All efforts are guided by and in adherence to the recommendations distributed by the CDC.

Please note that for the safety of our patients, their families, and our staff, on-site visitation is no longer allowed at Acadiana Treatment Center.

  • This restriction has been implemented in compliance with updated corporate and state regulations to further reduce the risks associated with COVID-19.
  • Options for telehealth visitation are continuously evaluated so that our patients can remain connected to their loved ones.
  • Alternate methods of communication for other services may be offered when deemed clinically appropriate.

For specific information regarding these changes and limitations, please contact us directly.

CDC updates are consistently monitored to ensure that all guidance followed is based on the latest information released.

  • All staff has received infection prevention and control training.
  • Thorough disinfection and hygiene guidance has been provided.
  • Patient care supplies such as masks and hand sanitizer are being monitored and utilized.
  • Temperature and symptom screening protocols are in place for all patients and staff.
  • Social distancing strategies have been implemented to ensure that patients and staff maintain proper distance from one another at all times.
  • Cleaning service contracts have been reviewed for additional support.
  • Personal protective equipment items are routinely checked to ensure proper and secure storage.
  • CDC informational posters are on display to provide important reminders on proper infection prevention procedures.
  • We are in communication with our local health department to receive important community-specific updates.

The safety of our patients, their families, and our employees is our top priority, and we will remain steadfast in our efforts to reduce any risk associated with COVID-19.

The CDC has provided a list of easy tips that can help prevent the spread of the coronavirus.

  • Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
  • Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue and then immediately dispose of the tissue.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth.
  • Clean and disinfect objects and surfaces that are frequently touched.
  • Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.
  • Stay home when you are sick, except to get medical care.

Our focus at Acadiana Treatment Center is for individuals who heal with us to go on and lead happy and healthy lives, free from addiction.

About Our Continuing Care Program

Learn More About the Continuing Care Program at Acadiana Treatment Center

No matter what level of care you participate in during your time at Acadiana Treatment Center, you will be provided with the guidance and support you need to meet and exceed your goals for recovery after treatment. As part of our comprehensive approach, we view aftercare planning as a critical element of success, and we ensure that this facet of care is prioritized throughout the healing process.

Importance of Continuing Care

Why Continuing Care is Vital to the Recovery Process

We’ve all been told countless times that the journey to recovery is a lifelong process. This means that while your path to sober living may begin upon being admitted to our program, your commitment to sobriety is one that will need to be affirmed each day for the rest of your life.

The men and women who seek to heal at our Louisiana facility come from all types of backgrounds, and carry with them unique experiences, successes, and challenges that impact their resolve to live a recovered life. As such, our program staff is dedicated to helping all of our clients make a plan for continuing care that will allow them to continue to build upon the success they found during their time at our center.

What to Expect After Treatment

Aftercare Planning Upon the Completion of Treatment at Acadiana Treatment Center

For clients attending our residential treatment program, discharge recommendations are discussed prior to family week, which is usually held during the client’s third week of treatment. Then, on the last day of family week, the client and his or her family member will decide if they wish to accept the aftercare recommendations from our clinical team. Our staff will continue to work with the client to emphasize the importance of these recommendations, and if for some reason the client is unable to adhere to the recommended aftercare plan due to certain external factors (e.g. employment, family obligations, financial concerns, etc.), then the client’s therapist will provide other, more feasible options.

Regardless of what level of care you participate in at Acadiana, before your official discharge, your therapist will meet with you for an individual session to schedule any necessary appointments, and to finalize the transition plan. He or she will document your overall progress and note the recommendations for ongoing services. It is usually advised that clients stay within the recommended level of aftercare for a period of two years, and they are welcome to attend our Continuing Care group for as long as they may need.

You will leave our center with a clearly written, structured plan for the ongoing support you’ll need upon returning home from treatment. This vital transitional support will help bridge the gap between higher levels of care and more community-based supports such as 12-Step programming. This service is intended to help our clients and their family members work together to extend and solidify the gains made throughout treatment.
