The extended residential care (ERC) program at Acadiana Treatment Center is an inpatient substance abuse rehab program that welcomes adult patients ages 18 and older who are in need of advanced, trauma-focused addiction treatment.
ERC Program Overview
Our center, located in Sunset, Louisiana, is a healing environment that is designed for intensive support. Here, ERC program participants benefit from an individualized healing experience that goes beyond the mere treatment of symptoms, and gets at the heart of addiction. Our center is also equipped to provide treatment for certain co-occurring mental health concerns, and our treatment teams ensure that all patients have access to the supports they need to enjoy a sustained recovery.
What Is the Typical Length of Stay?
Most patients participate in this residential treatment program for 30-90 days, depending on their needs. When you arrive, your treatment team will make a full assessment. From there, your length of stay will be determined based upon your presenting concerns, and can be updated based on your progress.
What Types of Treatment Modalities Are Used?
All ERC treatment plans are created based on each patient’s unique strengths, needs, and goals for recovery. Our treatment team uses a wide variety of treatment modalities, such as:
- Eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR)
- 12-Step curriculum
- Trauma-focused therapies
- Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT)
- Individual, group, experiential (art, Gestalt, etc.), and family therapies
Does the ERC Program Address Medical Concerns?
Medical care is provided (as needed) by our medical staff of RNs and LPNs. They are available to assist with general health maintenance and medication management, as well as with scheduling psychiatric appointments.
