Increased Precautions We're Taking in Response to COVID-19
As updates on the impact of the coronavirus continue to be released, we want to take a moment to inform you of the heightened preventative measures we have put in place at Acadiana Treatment Center to keep our patients, their families, and our employees safe. All efforts are guided by and in adherence to the recommendations distributed by the CDC.

Please note that for the safety of our patients, their families, and our staff, on-site visitation is no longer allowed at Acadiana Treatment Center.

  • This restriction has been implemented in compliance with updated corporate and state regulations to further reduce the risks associated with COVID-19.
  • We are offering visitation through telehealth services so that our patients can remain connected to their loved ones.
  • Alternate methods of communication for other services are being vetted and may be offered when deemed clinically appropriate.

For specific information regarding these changes and limitations, please contact us directly.

CDC updates are consistently monitored to ensure that all guidance followed is based on the latest information released.

  • All staff has received infection prevention and control training.
  • Thorough disinfection and hygiene guidance has been provided.
  • Patient care supplies such as masks and hand sanitizer are being monitored and utilized.
  • Temperature and symptom screening protocols are in place for all patients and staff.
  • Social distancing strategies have been implemented to ensure that patients and staff maintain proper distance from one another at all times.
  • Cleaning service contracts have been reviewed for additional support.
  • Personal protective equipment items are routinely checked to ensure proper and secure storage.
  • CDC informational posters are on display to provide important reminders on proper infection prevention procedures.
  • We are in communication with our local health department to receive important community-specific updates.

The safety of our patients, their families, and our employees is our top priority, and we will remain steadfast in our efforts to reduce any risk associated with COVID-19.

The CDC has provided a list of easy tips that can help prevent the spread of the coronavirus.

  • Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
  • Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue and then immediately dispose of the tissue.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth.
  • Clean and disinfect objects and surfaces that are frequently touched.
  • Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.

Drug & Alcohol Partial Hospitalization Program in Louisiana

The goal of our PHP at Acadiana Treatment Center is to empower the recovering individual to live a healthier, happier, and more productive life, free from destructive behaviors and dependence on addictive chemicals.

Our Partial Hospitalization Program

Learn More About the Partial Hospitalization Program at Acadiana Treatment Center

At Acadiana Treatment Center, we firmly believe that residential programming can be an essential step on the path of lifelong recovery for individuals who have been struggling with chemical dependency and certain co-occurring conditions. However, we also understand that residential care is just one step in this process, and that many men and women can benefit from other levels of treatment on their recovery journey.

In order to ensure that all who heal with us receive the care and support that they need, we are proud to supplement our residential program with a host of additional treatment options, including extended residential care, partial hospitalization, and intensive outpatient services.

Our Partial Hospitalization Program, or PHP, is designed to provide focused care for men and women who meet one of the following two criteria:

  • Individuals who have completed residential care and who can benefit from a structured step-down level of support to maintain and build upon the progress they have made while they transition out of treatment.
  • Individuals whose needs mandate a more intensive treatment experience than can be provided via traditional outpatient services, but who do not need the around-the-clock services that are offered in a residential treatment setting.
What to Expect

What to Expect in Our Partial Hospitalization Program in Louisiana

Men and women who participate in PHP at Acadiana Treatment Centers will engage in a variety of therapeutic activities on a daily basis, and will return home or to our on-site lodging at the end of each treatment day. This combination of intensive therapeutic services and independent living provides an optimal opportunity for men and women to practice new skills and begin to re-establish a healthy, self-sufficient lifestyle, while still receiving considerable guidance and support.

Men and women who enter PHP immediately upon completing residential care at Acadiana benefit from unimpeded continuity of care, which significantly increases the likelihood that they will avoid immediate relapse and can continue to build upon the successes that they experienced while in our residential program.

As is the case at all levels of care at Acadiana Treatment Center, men and women who participate in PHP will work in close collaboration with experienced professionals, and will follow personalized treatment plans that have been developed according to their specific strengths, needs, and goals.

Care for PHP participants who have transitioned directly from Acadiana’s residential program will be guided both by their initial intake assessment as well as the discharge plan that was finalized as they approached the end of their residential stay. Those who enter treatment with Acadiana at the PHP level will complete an intake assessment to identify the fundamental areas of focus that will be addressed in their personalized treatment plans.

Therapies Offered

Therapies Utilized Within Acadiana's PHP Treatment Process

Depending upon an individual’s specific needs, the following elements may be incorporated into his or her treatment in PHP at Acadiana:

Individual therapy: While in PHP, individuals will have the opportunity to participate in one-on-one sessions with a therapist or counselor. Individual therapy sessions can be valuable opportunities for men and women to process successes and setbacks, address issues or concerns that they may be hesitant to bring up in a group setting, and receive personalized feedback from an experienced professional.

Group therapy: Groups are a fundamental element of treatment in PHP at Acadiana. Groups provide participants with an excellent opportunity to get valuable recovery-related information from experts, learn from the experiences of others who are in recovery, share their own thoughts and insights, and practice healthy interpersonal communication skills, all under the guidance and supervision of a qualified professional.

Family therapy: The impact of addiction and co-occurring mental health disorders is not limited to the individual who is in treatment, and family members can also play an important role in supporting their loved one’s ongoing recovery after they have completed care and returned home. For these reasons, we are proud to offer family therapy sessions for PHP participants and their loved ones. These sessions can help to heal intrafamilial rifts, promote a renewed sense of strength and unity among families, and prepare all for a more productive and supportive future.

Discharge planning: When an individual has completed his or her time in PHP, he or she will receive a thorough discharge plan. This plan will identify professional referrals, community-based services, and other resources that will support his or her ongoing recovery and help him or her to maintain and build upon the progress that he or she made while in treatment with Acadiana Treatment Center.
